95 Points "From the Stevens vineyard in McLaren Flat on sandy loam; a little whole bunch; neutral French oak for 10 months. An elevated nose, fragrant with spices and dried woody herbs, bay and the scent of warm bush air. The cool year gives this appealing line, with no fat; still with dark fruits over red, but refined, savoury, accented with tarry mineral notes, cassia and brown cardamom. There’s good tension here, and appealing amaro and sour cherry notes through the lengthy finish up the interest considerably."
